Harbor Freight Distribution Building 4

Dillon, SC

Prior to being chosen for the HVAC design of the new Building 4, NDBS designed and installed the HVAC and gas pipe systems for the client’s other buildings on the site, having nearly 2 million square feet of total area. This 992,000-square-foot new construction project consists of a conditioned storage warehouse, 20,000 square feet of office and break rooms, a guard house, and exterior fire pump room. NDBS engineered and installed the HVAC and gas pipe systems to meet the client’s specifications and budget. The warehouse is conditioned to meet temperature and humidity requirements using rooftop units with multi-stage air volume supply fans, hot gas reheat, and direct digital controls (DDC). The design includes high-volume-low-speed fans along the loading docks for improved employee comfort and destratification, exhaust fans for forklift battery charging areas, and a computer room air conditioning system with reheat and humidity control. NDBS designed an energy efficient HVAC system, which exceeds the energy code and the client’s specifications. Multi-stage air volume supply fans allow the rooftop units to operate at lower airflow, improving dehumidification and saving energy year-round.
