Express Scripts Pharmacy

The Express Scripts facility is a design/assist project which helps to keep budgets in line with design. This facility consists of 202,000 square feet of shipping, receiving, pharmacy, and high-volume fill areas. There is an additional two-story, 34,000-square-foot office area with large data center. The pharmacy and high-volume fill required tight temperature and humidity control for their operation, so NDBS designed semi-custom packaged rooftop units utilizing variable speed compressors, liquid subcooling and hot gas reheat coils to allow for tight humidity control in the summer months. Gas fired humidifiers were installed for humidification in the winter. The facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art DDC controls system. Parallel to the temperature controls system in the pharmacy is a validated temperature and humidity monitoring system that meets the criteria of CFR Title 21, part 11. This system is provided to meet FDA requirements for electronic records and signatures and assures tight temperature and humidity control.
