Project Greencastle

Project Greencastle is a 2.2 million square fully automated distribution center for a large retailer with 4 million square foot of usable floor space when taking the two (2) 900,000 square foot mezzanines into account. This project was a plan and spec job where NDBS purchased equipment sized by the consulting engineer and managed the installing mechanical contractor. HVAC scope included installation of 88 Lennox RTUs, distribution ductwork to serve above and below the mezzanines, 2 snow-melt boiler systems with in-floor pex tubing for the elevated walkways to the parking lot, HVLS fans, and a Building Automation System.

Coordination and scheduling were vital to the success of this fully-automated distribution center project, as the end user had a complex material handling system and work had to be sequenced around their installers.
