This new distribution facility for United Natural Foods includes dry storage, cold storage, main office, operations office, and a remote truck maintenance facility. The main office is a two-story, 19,600-square-foot area served by a 40-ton packaged VAV rooftop unit with electric heat economizer with power exhaust fan terminal units, electric heat (serving perimeter zones) and variable air volume boxes with electric heat (serving interior zones). The two office rooftop units, the fan terminal units and the VAV boxes are controlled by a building automation system. The BAS features a graphics interface package for owner/operator daily usage.
The operations office is a two-story, 10,800-square foot area served by a packaged VAV rooftop unit with electric heat – 20-ton cooling capacity economizer with power exhaust, fan terminal units and VAV reheat boxes. The IT/Data room is served by a dedicated 4-ton unit.
The printing room located in the shipping area is served by a dedicated system.
The design for the dry warehouse was a 55-degree indoor temperature (winter) and a summer ventilation rate at 1 air change per hour. The heating was done with (3) direct fired make up air units with factory installed non-fused disconnects, motor starters, filter sections, inlet temperature sensors, freeze protection and industrial control panels with night setback. The summer ventilation system features three (3) up-blast fans with butterfly dampers, magnetic latches, and motors out of the air stream for serviceability. The fans interlocked with six (6) combination louver/dampers with flange frames, mill finish and insect screens.
The engine room is ventilated 24/7 with a direct fired make up air unit interlocked with a roof mounted exhaust fan.
