Jet Aviation

Van Nuys, CA

The 128,000-square-foot project includes two 42,000-square-foot hangars, a 9,800-square-foot FBO terminal, future tenant spaces, and 24,000 square feet of offices and support spaces. This new facility allows Jet Aviation and Gulfstream to expand their fixed-based operator services and maintenance and repair operations in the greater Los Angeles area. NDBS engineered and is installing the HVAC, gas pipe, and compressed air systems serving the hangars, offices, and support spaces. The hangars will be heated and ventilated using infrared radiant tube heaters, make-up air units, exhaust fans, and high-volume-low-speed fans to improve air movement. The FBO terminal and offices are served by rooftop units with variable air volume terminal units, zoned to meet the client’s requirements. A direct digital control (DDC) system is being installed for the HVAC equipment. The compressed air system includes variable speed air compressors and has air outlets to drops along both hangar walls and to underground pits in the hangar floor. NDBS has designed and will install an energy efficient HVAC system to comply with California Title 24 Energy Code and the standards required to receive LEED Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
