NDBS designed and built the mechanical systems for this state-of-the-art training facility. The project houses ten highly sophisticated flight simulators that require complex cooling systems. The 24-hour facility provides critical training to pilots at all hours of the day. Due to the critical nature of the facility the mechanical systems were engineered to provide redundancy in the event of a failure. NDBS also provided compressed air systems, hydraulic room ventilation, cabin trainer cooling, and smoke removal systems. Strategies to provide energy savings included minimizing static pressure losses with special duct design, strategic locations of the roof top units, and maintaining 24-hour cooling to critical areas.
