Express Scripts - North Huntingdon

NDBS designed and managed the installation of the HVAC and Temperature Control systems at Express Scripts’ newest call center in North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Two packaged VAV rooftop units provide redundancy to this critical facility that operates continuously. A looped duct system was installed so that one unit could supply conditioning to all spaces in the event of an equipment failure. Computer room air conditioning units temper the sizeable server room needed for all of the telecom equipment. Acoustics in the building were of major concern, so each piece of equipment was selected to maintain noise levels well below that of a typical office environment. Specially engineered acoustic dampeners were installed in the duct mains to minimize sound transmission from the HVAC equipment to the space. Ductwork was heavily design evaluated to reduce air velocity and associated sound, while terminal units and supply air grilles were selected such that air noise in the space is nearly non-existent. Working with the Technical Assurance Group at BatesForum, equipment efficiency and performance were scrutinized in order to achieve a LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
